Smart Feeders Load Data Improvement (LDI) Solution
The purpose of smart feeders LDI is to real time monitor the feeders, their on/off status, reporting SAIDI (System Average Interruption Duration Index) and SAIFI (System Average Interruption Frequency Index) alerts and load shedding/management on feeders consequent upon disruptions from national grid. It also depicts the load curve and behaviour of segmented load consumption that may be used for better planning. The LDI will cover 8 HT lines (outgoing) for CMH and PEMH distribution.
The conceptual diagram for LDI is presented in Figure 1 below and have following objectives:
- Feeders are equipped with incoming/outgoing unidirectional smart meters
- Head End Systems (HES) are deployed for incoming and outgoing meters
- Web based application (PHP Laravel, MySQL in house developed)
The conceptual architecture for smart feeders (LDI) project and communication architecture are presented in Figure 1 and Figure 2, respectively where communication between smart meters and their head end systems is through MPLS / APN network which offers private tunnel for secure communication. The Figure 3 presents data profile characteristics which are recorded by the smart meters as energy/load profiles and is transmitted to its respective head end system
