Role of PITC
As per NE-Plan (2023-2027) duly ratified by the Cabinet and communicated vide SRO No. 1284 dated 13th September, 2023, the existing PITC shall be restructured to function as a central information technology company for the power sector and shall perform the following functions:
NEP Strategic Directive [120]
Develop, manage & operate central e-platform to provide all essential electricity related customer services & support for effective implementation of e-Governance.
NEP Strategic Directive [127]
Develop centralized Power Information System (PIS) to integrate, standardize and disseminate sectoral data under a single platform for more effective and informed decision making through modelling, simulations and policy analysis.
NEP Strategic Directive [131]
Develop and consolidate central Electricity-CNIC Database (ECD) and its integration with NADRA, FBR and other agencies to enhance tax net broadening by identifying the tax evaders.
